Cometariu : I ordered 5 Sliver Shining Lemon Haze seeds, all of them sprouted but one of them got stuck in it's shell. It struggled for a while and then died.
They were planted late October at 34° south in Mediterranean climate. I grew them in rock wool and they were slow starters. I then transferred them into 20L DWC simple hydroponics and grew outdoors due to copious sunshine.
They grew enormous and by end of December stood head high. Thick, healthy, good looking plants with fan leaves bigger than my palm.
I cloned some plants and they withstood that well. I had a 100% success rate in hydroponic cloning, and the plants also responded easily to colloidal silver 50ppm. Thus I was able to produce feminized seeds to last a few seasons.
However, by end of January the four adult plants started giving problems. One after the other wilted from bottom up, going from healthy to dead within a matter of hours. Nothing could save them, no exchange of nutrient solution (always temperature, ph and ec controlled), no flushing or airing. The roots looked firm and light, not a soggy, rotten mass. I lost all of the four adult plants this way within 2 or 3 weeks.
Luckily the younger clones survived long enough to bring to flower, and I did get a jar of good bud after all. I concluded that October was too early to grow and the plants simply couldn't live that long in a makeshift dwc system. It also proved far too much work and hard to keep cool in summer.
So I tried again the year after, with the seeds I made from the original plants.
This time I planted at the beginning of December, in a mix of coco and perlite. Again, grown outdoors. The plants grew almost as good as in hydro - for a fraction of the effort. The plants were healthy and the same genome as their parents, I thus assume this is a very genetically sound strain that has been well bred.
There was a bit of mildew around, but easily controlled with a mix of bicarbonate, soap and oil sprayed on the leaves. The plants did not mind. Flowering started mid February and they were ready to harvest by end of March, when they had reached about 130cm.They plants had a fairly strong scent towards the end. I dried in a cabinet for 10 days and then transferred the buds to jars for fermentation. Happy with the results!
Good genetics, good yield, good effect. They did withstand heat and wind well, but I would not recommend them for hydroponic growing unless it is done in a fully controlled environment.
